Parent Involvement

Mission Statement

District and school-based Title I Parent Involvement Programs in Polk County will strive to build RELATIONSHIPS to create real family engagement for every child, every family, every teacher, every day.

Title 1 Overview

Components of Title 1 are:

  • Effective Instruction
  • Professional Development
  • Parental Involvement

Studies show that the more parents are involved in the education of their child, the more academically successful that child will be. The goal of the Title I Parent Involvement program is to give school-based Parent Involvement Facilitators information, materials and resources to enable them to provide for their parents at the school-level. It is the job of the Facilitator to give parents the tools and resources necessary for them to help their child at home. Everyone working together in this way gives the child the best possible support for doing well in school.

Curriculum and State Assessment Information

Teachers provide a syllabus to students at the beginning of the year that explain their class curriculum. Curriculum and Assessment information is discussed at Open House as well as at our 8th grade Preview Night. Additionally, an overview of graduation requirements/courses is discussed in co-hort meetings with counselors and administration periodically. Information about curriculum and testing is also provided when students enroll at RCHS.
Letters are sent home with students that inform parents about the state assessments that their student is expected to take. The letters also explain the implications of those assessments.  A tentative testing calendar is disseminated to all teachers and posted for all students on our school website under the testing tab. Parents are also directed to the testing page on the district website.
Score reports are provided with final report cards. Parents/guardians can pick up report cards anytime during the summer months. If report cards are not picked up, they are disseminated through the student’s teachers the following year.
Questions about assessment/curriculum can be directed to our guidance department by calling 863-419-3315 and requesting to speak to your student’s guidance counselor.
